shock

When exposed to (emotional or physical) trauma the body deploys its own defense system. From the FIRST second the brain receives the signal that a catastrophe has occurred. The blood rushes to the organ that needs help the most. Blood flows to the muscles. To the organs. To the brain. The brain then makes a decision for the rest of the body. Either face the danger or run away. It is a mechanism designed to protect the body from harm. We call it shock. I think I am coming to the realization that I live my life in a constant state of shock. Everyday I choose to stay and face the danger. The memories. The flash backs. The constant fear. It never goes away. I even think the older Mason gets the more terrifying losing him is. I honestly am so exhausted from the sheer thought. I don't know how I could live in this world should one of my children leave it. Y’all are too gracious with me. (YES I said Y'all. I am trying to keep it light. For me...

School Project - My morning with Mason!

Whats new.  I am behind on updating. A few months ago I took the morning off and was able to spend time with Mason and his class.  We worked on their class project which was auctioned off during the annual fundraiser.  Each student was given a canvas and they were allowed to create a cross any which way they wanted! Mason with his finished project.  All of the squares were put together to create on large masterpiece.  It was special and I REALLY wanted it hanging in my home! I am not sure what the final piece was sold for but I can tell you that I bid $550 and didn't get it. I guess we need to start saving for next years art piece! (Due to the schools social media policy I can not show pictures of the other students)

Day 7: At Sea

Today the Disney Cruise arranged a special meet and greet for Mason and Kendall! Finally after 7 days Kendall decided she would actual hug Mickey!!! They even walked around the boat with Mickey... Which made both Kendall and Mason feel really special since they were the envy of all kids who walked by! The Captain of the boat even stopped in for a visit! Once we were done visiting with Mickey it was off to meet Anna and Elsa! Don't let this face fool you. He was EXCITED! Goodbyes are always the hardest!!! Danielle. She was our Disney host and arranged a lot of fun activities for us. She was also the one behind all of the goodies left in our room each night..... Lito. Was our head server and with us each night at dinner! Jack was our Assistant Server and also with us each night... In fact speaking of dinner. Here are a few photos from our dinner shenanigans from the entire cruise! ...
