Day 6: Ketchikan

This is it. Our last day in a city in Alaska. Thankfully we were able to re-charge since we had more of a relaxing day the day before. We were up early and off the boat! Guess who we ran into????? SANTA!!! Mason's first question... When will Charlie come back? Charlie is our VERY special elf! Since this is our last stop we need one more BIG adventure. The problem was that all the adventures available required you to be at least 5 years or older and the one Mason REALLY wanted to do required you to be 10 or older.... So our options were to split up so Mason could have an adventure with one of us or we all spend the day together exploring the city. Before we threw in the towel on the adventures for the day we stopped at an excursion booth outside of the trip. One of the excursions (riding ATV's in the mountations) required you to be 10 years or older. Mason REALLY wanted to do this so we thought what the heck... Maybe they will make an exception?!?!? Day 5: Juneau

Welcome to Juneau! Mason really wanted to go on a helicopter ride but with the weather all flights were canceled so we took that as our que to have more of a laid back day and explore the city. AND WET!   At the top we enjoyed a warm cup of coffee and explored some trails. We also met a rescued Eagle who had been shot and left to die.  The shelter saved him and has been caring for him ever since due to the fact that he would not be able to survive in the wild. Down we go.  I think this is when Kendall realized how high we are. The look on her face... PRICELESS! On the way down we met a young woman from Washington who is in the Coast Guard. Guess it was our lucky day because the...

Alaska: Day 3 & 4

I took a minute off... I have been so overwhelmed with EVERYTHING lately that we have gone off the paleo bandwagon but since my body is not happy about this and almost every joint in my body hurts I spent some time organizing our meal plans and creating a monster shopping list.  My to do list today - go buy everything that I need for the next few weeks... This wont be a fun bill to see rack up but our bodies are worth the price...  Pay now or pay for it later in medical bills... So I will gratefully pay for it now! Before I leave to drain our life savings at whole pay check... I mean whole foods I thought I would share photos from day 3 & 4 of our Alaskan Cruise! Day THREE: Tracy Arms Honestly this was one of my favorite days on the trip. When we normally vacation we are not the ones who are making plans and dreaming up things to do. It is actually the opposite.  We live by calendars, appointments, and alarms in our EVERYDAY life so on vacati...
