Our adventure being SNOWED IN!

The snow has finally decided to show up...
Leave it to mother nature to be not to late - just fashionably late.
I might not love it however Mason thinks it is magical; he also thinks that because it is snowing the tree needs to be put back up and that Santa is coming (again)
What a funny little boy!

Since the snow has hit we have literally not been able to leave our house (safely that is). The roads that lead to civilization are literally closed due to the amount of snow turned into ice. In fact this morning as we tried to venture out I thought for sure we would end up in the ditch like almost everyone else. Luckily we didn't and we made it home!!!!
Sounds like we live in the middle of no-where which is not the case just on top of a big hill that we can not get down.

I would rather not take the snow however we have had some fun the past few days playing with our little ball of energy. Pure joy is watching him keep up with the neighborhood kids!
WE ARE BLESSED.

One excited kid... I actually should probably say TWO excited kids

I am not sure who enjoyed themselves more... Mason or Luke?

Getting pulled around in his sled - throwing snowballs at us :)

Mason of course thought it was soooo funny to throw the snow at Luke (using a shovel)

If you have snow, be safe and make the most of it... If you don't, can I send it your way?

Loaded Diaper?!?!?

Today's post title comes to you from the one and only Greg Garka... Thanks for the idea babe! As far as Mason is concernced today was another good day for our little man! We made our goal and got up and went on a total of three walks. The last walk of the night he spotted the “playroom” and was interested so we stopped and visited with our neighbors while he played. It was the highlight of the day. His appetite decreased today but that is to be expected since he hadn’t yet had a bowel movement (in 6 days)– however about 60 minutes ago things changed in that department and I am happy to report his bowels are working and back in action… During his echo he was again a crowd pleaser and was on his best behavior. The technician said that he was the best 3 year old she has done. It is so funny; he gets upset when something is about to happen and he doesn’t understand what. He tells us he is scared and then after we explain to him what they are going to do and that it won’t hurt –...

10 Years....

Mason, It is amazing how time passes by in the blink of an eye after you have kids…. It seems like just yesterday, yet this week, 10 years have passed since our life was turned upside down. The day our world took a turn we never saw coming. Each year leading up to the anniversary, I get anxious, emotional, sad, scared, and angry. I WISH 10 years later I felt differently. But I don’t. It almost feels just as raw as the day we were told…. This year. I am consciously recognizing what it is… MONDAY FEBRUARY 11 th ,2008. We sat in a room where a Doctor carefully articulated and explained to us about your special heart. There is one detail about this day I have seemed to forget in time. That is the name of the doctor who told us about our fate…. I could describe to you in details about anything else you might want to know, who was there, what we were wearing, what the Doctor himself looked like and the conversation we had. Yet his name, which used to be...

To our moms (plural)

To my Mom… You might not always feel needed but you are. You raised two strong women. Who work hard, and try to play harder (at least one of us, I will let the readers decide who I am referring to).   You provided us with a childhood I dream to provide my kids with.   You showed us through experiences a taste of what this life has to offer. You are an amazing mom. AND an exceptional Nana.   To my Step-Mom… I don’t know this to be factual but I imagine that being a Step – Mom is somewhat harder… At least maybe to the two young girls below…. Joyce, you showed us a different side to unconditional love. You choose to stay and stand your ground. Even when you didn’t have to. Even when we fought back. The two women you helped raised are thankful for that! To my Mother in Law. You raised a man who is the best person I know.   (Side note. Mason just a...
